Koenigseggis a funky boutique supercar company that is based in the "happiest place on Earth" (A.K.A. Sweden). Since 2002, when the Nordic carmaker first debuted its first production car (the CC8S), the auto manufacturer has always striven to provide the world with criminally fast vehicles. Their cars are so fast, in fact, that only one competitor in the form of Bugatti has really been able to give them a run for their money in recent years (with the exception of the Thrust SSC).
So far, however, it appears that the Swedes have been able to best the Volkswagen-owned French company. With speed being practically embedded into the companies DNA, it is no surprise that the brand has been able to snatch the title of world's fastest car multiple times. Back in 2017, their Agera RS was able to dethrone the Chiron out of the coveted position.
As one can imagine, the car was instantly a hit and instantly sold out. Unfortunately, when already expensive things become desirable, they tend to go up even higher in value. This is especially true twhen considering a supercar that has been labeled as a Bugatti killer.
So, you're probably wondering by now, exactly how much is this land-based rocket worth in 2021? After all, you did click on the article, right? Well, we will tell you that the sticker price is a bit on the shocking side. But before we get to that, let's talk a bit about what you get when you purchase an Agera RS.

What's Better Than A V-8? ...A Twin Turbo-Charged V-8
To kick things off, let's talk about the nuclear bomb of an engine that sits in the middle of this car. Inside of the Agera RS, you'll find a ferocious twin turbobecharged V8 engine. People who dare to pilot this beast will find themselves having to contend with 1,160 HP, all of which goes straight to the rear wheels.
As with most supercars of today, the Agera RS only comes equipped with a dual-clutch automatic transmission. Enthusiasts may be saddened to hear this, but by the same token, those who actually drive the car will probably be quite happy. After all, you'll already have enough to worry about without having to worry about changing gears (you know, like keeping this thing on the road, for instance).
So, after seeing how much power this car produces, you might be asking yourself, "but can it all of this power?". The answer is a simple one: "Yes...yes it can". If you put your hoof all the way down into the carpets, you'll find yourself going from 0-60 MPH in around 2.9 seconds. If you keep pressing down, you'll see the speedometer continue to rise all the way up to 249 MPH in only 33.29 seconds. Continue past this number, and you'll eventually hit the car's top speed of 278 MPH.

Carbon Fiber And Aluminum Everywhere You Look
Like most supercars, the Agera RS is made up of a variety of exotic and lightweight materials. On the outside, you'll find that the engineers have given the Swedish rocket a steady dietary blend of carbon fiber and aluminum. As a result of their efforts, the car only weighs about 2,855 lbs. That quite a bit less than that of the standard Agera, which comes in at a hefty 3,164 lbs.
Moving outside to the wheels Koenigsegg has continued its heavy use of aluminum to construct 19 in wheels in the front and 20 in wheels in the back. Painted onto these massive wheels, are a set of Michelin Super Sports that are rated up to a speed of 260 MPH. Thankfully, an electronically adjustable rear wing is available to help assist these tires with staying firmly planted onto the road.
Take a step insideand you'll be greeted with a a slightly minimalist yet very refined and sporty interior. One of the key features that you'll notice is that there are stripes that continue throughout the co*ckpit. These mimic the stripes on the outside.
The other notable interior feature is the illuminated aluminum buttons that flow throughout the vehicle. Thanks to Koenigsegg's "Ghost light" lighting system, the solid aluminum buttons actually have light shine through them. Apparently, this works by utilizing carbon nanotubes. Exclusivity At Its Peak
Because there are only 25 production models of the Agera RS,Koenigsegg has brought a whole new meaning to the term exclusive. While there currently does not appear to be a comprehensive list of everyone who owns one, we do know that supercar collector Manny Khoshbin does own one. For those of you who aren't familiar with him, he is worth about $46,000,000.
Speaking of money, you did come here to figure out exactly how much one of these fantastically bonkers cars costs today, right? Well, the answer to that question is quite an unpleasant and shocking one. They cost about $3,000,000 in 2021. That's up from the original price of $2,550,000 back in 2017.
Like most things, however, they cost as much as people are willing to pay for them. Keep in mind; there are only 25 of these things in existence. So, don't be surprised if you see one sell for a whole lot more in the near future!
